2019 CFPB Proposed Regulations for Payday Lending

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has released proposed regulations for “payday lending.” Many hope these regulations will help curb the most abusive practices of the small-dollar lending industry. During the next few months, it will be helpful to hear from Native CDFIs (community development financial institutions), credit counselors and financial educators about any problems clients may be having or if they are struggling with payday loans.
Join us for a webinar that will explain how the regulation process works, and how comments can be made. This interactive webinar is designed to provide an opportunity for you to weigh in and share the stories of your customers and clients in Indian Country. Stories and input will be compiled into a public comment by Oweesta Corporation and First Nations Development Institute.
