Kaitlyn Bazhaw
Citizen Potawatomi
Kaitlyn Bazhaw, Executive Assistant for Oweesta, is an enrolled member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation (CPN). She was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Kaitlyn’s career trajectory began while working towards her undergraduate degree. In 2017, she interned for the Potawatomi Leadership Program, a selective, Harvard Honoring Nations award-winning opportunity. This led to other internships with CPN, which included the Office of Self Governance, and later, Workforce Development & Social Services. All internships sparked a joy of empowering communities, and Kaitlyn knew this would be a part of her professional path.
Kaitlyn graduated in December 2019 with her Bachelor of Business Management (BBA) from Oklahoma Baptist University. After graduation, she began working for a not-for-profit organization, specifically for their Church Extension Fund (CEF). She decided to continue her education while working full time, earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2022.
In her spare time, Kaitlyn enjoys laying in the sun with a good book. She loves hiking, traveling, and exploring new restaurants with her husband, Randy. They both love animals and have two cats, Mobi and Winnie, and two dogs, Buddy and Sassy. Kaitlyn’s favorite craft is cross-stitching, but she also wants to learn more about sewing and mending clothes in the future.
