2019 Native Convening

October 21 @ 8:00 am - October 23 @ 5:00 pm

We invite you to the 2019 Native Community Development Financial Institution Convening (Native Convening), a joint effort with Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) and First Nations Oweesta Corporation (Oweesta). Held each year at the annual OFN Conference, the Native Convening is a two and a half day event that includes a one-day Native Gathering, an array of Native-specific break out sessions, and the annual Native CDFI Awards. We expect more than 100 leaders from Native CDFIs, Tribal programs, and Tribal housing authorities, as well as industry partners in asset-building, to attend the Native Convening in Washington, D.C. For more information on the Native Gathering Day schedule and the Native Track of Sessions offered at the 2019 OFN Conference, please click here.

ABOUT OWEESTA

Oweesta is the only existing Native CDFI intermediary offering financial products and development services exclusively to Native CDFIs and Native communities. Specifically, Oweesta provides training, technical assistance, investments, research, and policy advocacy to help Native communities develop an integrated range of asset-building products and services, including financial education and financial products.

Asset-building tools stimulate reservation economies by providing tribal members the opportunity to acquire financial management skills and build and accumulate assets through small business creation, homeownership, education, and much more.
