Four Bands Community Fund was founded in April 2000 to assist entrepreneurs of the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation with training, business incubation, and access to capital, encouraging economic development and enhancing the quality of life for all communities and residents of the Reservation.

Four Bands Community Fund is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community and economic-development corporation that is working to build and strengthen Reservation-based businesses which can help form the foundation needed to support self-determination, self-sufficiency and a stronger economy for the Four Bands of the Lakota Nation.

The Four Bands training model is called Icahya Woecun, "a place to grow".  It is based on the Lakota tradition - movement in a circle that has a beginning and an end, but yet is never ending; and a foundation based on the number four.  Four Bands serves as a place to educate, finance, incubate and advocate for small businesses and entrepreneurs.  Four Bands offeres a range of culturally appropriate services that are tailored to the needs of people on the Reservation.
