New Markets For Native Communities

What is the New Markets Tax Credit Program?
The New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program stimulates economic and community development and job creation in low-income communities throughout the nation by attracting investment capital from the private sector.

The NMTC Program was created in December 2000 and is administered by the United States Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Fund. The NMTC Program provides an incentive of a tax credit to individuals or corporations who make investments in low-income or distressed communities.
